A border storm cuts off an outpost from the supply city. Bastion must lead a makeshift squad through the storm with an energy core. He hides the fact that, on this same route, waiting for the perfect order once cost a squad its chance to withdraw. Determined to absorb every risk, he pushes his shield beyond its limits. Rivet's mech needs repairs, Winglet's flight gear fails and Patch warns that nobody can keep going indefinitely. At the storm's centre, Bastion finally shares the truth and lets each teammate take responsibility for part of the escape. They deliver the core and return together. The new dents in his shield belong to a shared journey, not a solitary victory.
